My favourite suburb

It's not hard to see why Wahroonga is my favourite suburb.  (It's next door to Hornsby.)  The first two pics are of the station and the bottom one is a magnificent magnolia tree in the park right next door.

Today is the first day of the rest of my life.

I finished teaching yesterday and slept the sleep of the exhausted till almost midday. Working for myself is the hardest thing I've ever done, and I'm more than ready to share the load with Kate, a wonderful young woman I recently met.

Trying to get back to 'normal', I made an effort to have a proper walk today, but could only stretch it to 20 minutes and decided to build up to the usual 45 slowly. I walked along a beach, pondering the fact that a shark took a boy's leg today and is now being hunted to be killed, I suppose. What a ridiculous thing to do - if somebody gets knocked down by a car nobody thinks for a moment of taking all vehicles off the road. The ocean is the shark's home, for heaven's sake! People should be more damned careful.

I was determined to get my blog going again, but can't find it, so I've started another one. I've been sitting here for at least an hour, trying to think of a name that nobody else has. I tried dozens before the one you see at the top. Easy now I think of it, as kids n cats are what my life is filled with.

I want to speak Italian as fluently as a native, so that will take priority - well, that and painting and gardening and cooking and reading and walking and swimming and craft - till I start back at work, in about six weeks.
